Halloween: Spelling and Handwriting Task Cards

(0)
This resource is a great way for your students to work on their spelling and handwriting skills, plus it's linked to the theme of Halloween. Each page comes with two task cards on it with the same image/vocabulary. One task card is for spelling or handwriting - it comes with a prompt above so students can either use the included letters to match them or they can write in the boxes underneath to work on their handwriting skills. The second task card on the page is for students to work on their handwriting by having a prompt underneath, this is where students will overwrite the word. The task cards come in b/w and col option for your preference. ♦ Task Card 1: Students have a picture, prompt and then cut out letters to match to the words or use the prompt above to work on their handwriting in the boxes below. ♦ Task Card 2: Students over write the Halloween word. This activity does require you to do a bit of cutting and laminating but it is well worth it and will be long-lasting and beneficial to your pupils. Cut out the task cards and laminate them as your 'base'. Then cut out the individual letters and laminate these. I recommend laminating as they will last longer but if you want to use as a cut/paste activity with your students these will also be great.

Guy Fakes Word to Picture Matching Activity, Bonfire Night

The word to picture matching activities are a fantastic resource for the autism classroom, especially with non-verbal students although can also be used within Spec Ed or General Ed Classrooms to promote reading. It will allow you to be able to monitor if your students are able to recognise and understand different words and link them to the appropriate picture. Many students may learn to just read words but not understanding the meaning behind them, this will help to promote that. 3 different activities boards in total. The first page in the PDF is the instructions page to help you use these to their best potential. All vocabulary and images linked to the UK celebration of Guy Fawkes/Bonfire Night on 5th November. Comes in colour/color or black and white option.

Florence Nightingale Simplified Story
TeachingAutismTeachingAutism

Florence Nightingale Simplified Story

(0)
This simplified story is based on the story of Florence Nightingale. It includes 20 pages and the story has been simplified to be more engaging for students and easier for them to understand and follow the story of Florence Nightingale and everything that she achieved throughout her life. Each mini-page, is half an actual page size, meaning you cut each page in half. I recommend laminating each page individually and then binding together to make a book - it’ll also make it stronger and longer lasting for you. You can use this resource as a whole class story which you can read to your students, or print numerous copies and have them readily available for your students to read in your classroom library. Another great way to use this resource is to introduce the book page by page each day/week and put together as a sequencing activity into student’s literacy books so that you can discuss each page more in-depth and have your students work on their sequencing skills. This resource comes in colour/color or black and white option for your preference. It is also suitable for both UK and US readers i.e colour/color.
